I graduated from Phil Campbell High School in 1982. I attended Northwest Junior College before transferring to Auburn University, (WAR EAGLE!!!!!) where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science/Secondary Education in 1987. I then earned a Master's Degree from the University of North Alabama in 1997 also in the Social Sciences. Since then, I have received certification in Educational Administration, and have enough graduate hours in History to teach at the Community College level.

Upon graduation from Auburn in 1987, I began my teaching career at Jasper County High School in Georgia.  After two years, I returned to Alabama and went back to college and received certification to teach Biology. I was given the opportunity to teach 7th, 8th and 9th grade Social Studies, History, and Physical Science here at Belgreen.  Currently I teach 9th, 10th and 11th History and 12th Government and Economics. In the 2016-17 school year I taught a Dual Enrollment History class. I have been employed here since then and am beginning my 27th year here at Belgreen.

I have sponsored Varsity Cheerleaders, the Junior Class, Faith Followers, the Yearbook, and Scholar's Bowl as well as coordinating the annual Academic Awards.

I grew up in Phil Campbell, Alabama and spent a few years living in the Gravel Hill community. I taught for two years in Georgia before moving back to Alabama. I have two children, Kayla and Kevin, and we reside in Russellville.
